The gift of dignity

For every 7,50 Euro you donate to us, the AFRIpads Foundation donates an AFRIpads School Girl Kit, which includes 5 reusable sanitary pads, and a pair of underwear to each girl it supports.

Most importantly, these products are accompanied with education about the use of AFRIpads, menstrual hygiene and sexual and reproductive health. This way, we help girls have an informed and dignified period.

Your donation includes:

  • 1 Schoolgirl Kit, which includes 5 reusable sanitary pads.
  • 1 pair of AFRIpads Underwear.
  • Our educational comic book ‘Girl Talk!’  which explains what happens during menstruation to girls in an accessible and engaging manner.
  • Training on the use and care of the AFRIpads Schoolgirl Kit.
  • Access to the full MHH Education Curriculum and Data Collection Toolkit. These tools provide partners with comprehensive content on menstrual health including the reproductive system, the menstrual cycle and how to track it as well as tips on how to be happy and healthy during your period.

Apply for a donation

Are you an individual or organization that works in one of our core countries? Do you feel that the girls or women you are supporting could benefit from a donation?
Feel free to fill in the Donation Application Form to see if your project fits the criteria.

Important information:

  • You can apply for a donation for the following countries: Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, & Zimbabwe.
At the moment, these are the only countries with local representation.
  • The donations are only applicable to those organizations or individuals that do not have the funds to procure AFRIpads Menstrual Kits for their project.
In case you have a budget for menstrual materials and would like to partner with AFRIpads to procure the Menstrual Kits and receive their abundance of educational and data collection materials, reach out to [email protected].
  • In case your project is accepted to receive a donation, you agree to the terms and conditions:
    • Every donation should be accompanied by a Use and Care training to the trainers or end users. Easy aids are provided, either in hard-copy or virtually, to train you on the use and care of the products.
    • Please carry out the donation within 12 weeks after donation approval. Contact us if an extension is needed.
    • Fill in the Donation Report Form and upload it with clear pictures during your donation via this form within 14 days after the completion of your donation. Make sure that persons in the picture give you consent to share their image. We appreciate pictures of different parts of the donation, for example; distribution, training, close-ups, group pictures etc.
  • If you have already received a donation from us before, we can only consider you again after 12 months.
This way we can give other projects a chance too.
  • In case you have received a donation from us before, and you have not been able to provide a donation report, we won’t be able to grant you another donation.
Accountability is very important for us and our donors, so we kindly request you to take this seriously.

Behind the scenes

We would like to take you on a journey to Uganda to highlight two outreaches the AFRIpads Foundation did in collaboration with the AFRIpads team on ground. The best way to tell our story is through the experiences of the girls receiving your donation.

Karamoja: Institute for International Cooperation and Development. 2021

In April 2021, the AFRIpads Foundation, in partnership with the Institute for International Cooperation and Development (C&D) oversaw a donation in the Karamoja region, North Eastern Uganda. 625 girls from 12 schools were supported with AFRIpads School Girl Kit, AFRIpads underwear and a Girl Talk Booklet and soap. Alongside the donation of products, the AFRIpads team facilitated training to the school girls. This training covered how to properly use and care for AFRIpads as well as more broadly teaching the girls about their menstrual cycle, reproductive system, and how to stay happy and healthy during their periods.

Agago District: North Uganda Outreach Project. 2022

In April 2022, the AFRIpads Foundation in partnership with the North Uganda Outreach Project oversaw a donation in Agago District, Northern Uganda. 1000 girls in 5 schools were given an AFRIpads School Girl Kit, AFRIpads underwear and a Girl Talk Booklet. Alongside the donation of products, the AFRIpads team facilitated training to the school girls. This training covered how to properly use and care for AFRIpads as well as more broadly teaching the girls about their menstrual cycle, reproductive system, and how to stay happy and healthy during their periods.
